Florence Jamieson Resume

Florence Jamieson was born in Glasgow in 1925 and now lives in Ullapool on the North West coast of Scotland.

She attended Glasgow School of Art Evening Classes and subsequently taught Still Life painting there.

She has exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, Society of Scottish Artists, Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour and the Glasgow Institute. She has also held numerous joint and solo exhibitions mainly in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth and Ullapool. In 2014 she was one of four remaining living artists chosen to provide a selection of her work for the prestigious ‘Glasgow Girls’ Kirkcudbright summer exhibition.

She received the Royal Scottish Academy Award and the Royal Glasgow Institute Torrance Award.

The artist is represented in various public collections including: Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Glasgow Glasgow University Hunterian Art Gallery Scottish Arts Council Collection Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries Scottish Fisheries Museum, Anstruther
